Drifters were original - Rolling Stones had it on their first USA release along with Little Red Rooster and some other old R & B stuff.

The Drifters. I want to say it was a great song. Thanks for bringing it up, I started to sing it as I typed this out. I suppose now it will be one of those songs that keep on going in your head all day.
