I got pregnant at 17, had my daughter at 18. My life is far from messed up. I admit things I want to do in life are taking a little more time than they would've if I didn't have children first, but I still have no regrets. I still finished school with a 4.0 GPA, have taken some college courses. The father of my daughter (now daughters) and I are getting married next year. We just bought a new vehicle and are starting to look at houses. For me having a child early made me get my priorities straight. I want a house, a want money, and I want my kids to know they are loved. It doesn't always depend on the person's age that is pregnant, it depends on the person.

I was 16 when I got pregnant with my oldest. I had her when I was 17. I married her dad, actually two days after I had her. We had planned on getting married the day we did, but she was born 6 weeks early. I would not say my life is messed up, but its been hard. But we did plan our other kids. Its hard because you do miss out on ALOT, but the way I look at it, when my kids are old enough to stay alone, I will be alot more mature but still young enough to go out and have fun! But I will be smart enough to stay out of trouble, and more financially secure!
She is now 8 and I am 25. If you would like to talk, you may contact me. I know exactly what your going through!

I got pregnant at 16 and had my baby at 17 and no I did not get married and the dad is in the Air Force and not long after our son was born he was based in a different state that is real far from where I am so he has not seen our son in over a year.
It was hard but I managed to get threw high school and am now 19 and in college...Teen pregnancy has it's up's and downs like an up is that many colleges have this scholarship like that allows people who had babies at a young age to go to college for half price or free, I got in for free and you can also get free or half off daycare on campus, I got free..
Their are many resources you can turn to such as WIC or welfare and you can find other programs around your area that can help out...You should go to Social Services and they can give you information on places to go or contact to help you out.
You should check out JustMommies.com and go to the teen pregnancy forum or teen mommies forum, this site is a forum site full of diffrent mommy forums like the due date forums and you can also find loads of freebies in the freebies forum.
Here is a good freebie from the freebies section for you, it is a book for birth-5 years..I just got mine in the mail a few days ago and it is great and no they do not charge you a penny for the book or shipping.... http://www.sf.pii.orders.com/Events/Birth/RP_Birth/

I got pregnant at 14 and had my son at 15. I continue going to an alternative school only for teen mothers. I did finish school got my high school diploma. Got my first job at 17. I am not going to say I missed out on my teenage years bcuz my parents did not allow me to go out, and trust me it was the same after I had my son ( I am not allowed to go out, no boys can call the house phone, but that's where they fail at the first time trying to be so strict). I am now 21 and my son is now 6 and I am pregnant with my 2nd child I think I can handle it all over again alot it's been a while since the last one (yeah with the same guy). If you need someone to chat with you can just email me!
Good Luck and Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are pregnant not by choice... I'm assuming you were taken advantage of.
if so, personally the same thing happened to me and i ended up not keeping it.
There are several ways of being able to continue on with your life, yet it IS going to hard as all hell. There are tech schools that offer ged progtrams/ technical degree programs. You can get your ged along with a degree in a career such as cosmetology, lpn, etc. It is doable, and there are some strong teens out there that continue to go to school even when they start to show. Sometimes you have to to the hard stuff to make sure that you get the most out of the situation. You can also continue highschool if you want, some schools work with teen moms and they can do there classes from home. that way they can work part-time and finish school. Either way you're prolly going to have to work, but getting your education is so important as well.
also, if this pregnancy is what you are indicating what it is, I get into therapy if I were you as well. you may be keeping the baby, but after its born, you may have all sorts of feelins you didnt before.

If you keep your baby you will be a mother first and everything else comes after. That includes proms, studying, clothes for you and dates and hanging with your friends. You will need a job for after school to afford the things a baby needs, and most schools will make you still go to school not home school. You will be a grown up now with someone else to depend on you so you might as well start taking charge now and find out what your school district does by asking your grade adviser, or whatever they call them now. Make sure you make your clinic appointments on time too, so you know how to take care of yourself and your baby to come. Its a very tough thing to do and you will be giving up things for the rest of your life in order to provide for your baby. But don't give up school or you will never get out of poverty.

I was 16 and got pregnant by accident, I was on the pill and it didn't work. Now people may hate me for this, but remember I was 16 and very scared, as I am sure you are. I made the mistake of not telling my parents and relying on my boyfriend for help. (DUMB) He pushed me into an abortion, told me that we would be together forever and we would have more. I did what he wanted and he left the day after. I wish I wouldn't have had an abortion, but if I had went on to have the baby, he/she would have destroyed my life, I would have adopted the child out. So many people want to adopt. In fact my husband and I have 3 wonderful boys and are trying to adopt another child. We just havn't found the right person. THis allows you to continue with your life, but allows this baby to have a wonderful chance at a very happy life. Please talk to your parents and hopefully you can do a home shcool program and continue your life in a postive direction. God bless you for caring and the best of luck to you.

Yea i did at the at of 15, But i stayed in school. Thats the most important thing. When i found out i was pregnant, i signed up for all kinds of help. I found 2 part time jobs, i went to school, and worked. When i got farther along in my pregnancy i could no longer fit in my desk :) so i moved into a teen maternity house, i took parenting classes, counseling, and i still attended school. When i had my son i moved back home, I applied for childcare while i attended school. Its a program called crossroads, They will pay 100% of your daycare as long as you are in school. It was tough being a young mother. I had no friends because i had no time to spend with them. We all grew apart. I was now a full time mom a full time student and also a full time employee. When i finally finished school, i started some college corses online, which im still doing. I worked full time. It really was tough but you can do it. Apply for all the help you can get, Keep your life on track, and definitly finish school. You deserve that and your child deserves that. Apply for WIC, Foodstamps, TANF, Medicaid. Go to your local social service office. They will help you through all of this. Make sure you follow up with your doctor. Your now taking care of someone else. Just dont ever feel bad for what happened. Just prove em all wrong :) Some of us do grow up and take on our responsibilities! It will be alright. Let me know if i can help you with anything :) GOODLUCK

I am not an attorney or anything but I will try and answer your questions the best I can. 1) Her parents cannot take her baby without your girlfriend giving them permission. She would have to willingly sign the baby over to them. They can however harass her until she gives in and sign the baby over to them. 2) Since she is a minor they can definitely forbid you from seeing her. However, they can't forbid you from seeing the child once its born. Of course you will have to go to court to get visitation rights. 3) The only way that she can move in with you is 1, if her parents kick her out or 2 she becomes immancipated. It would not be a good idea for her to run away or live with you without her parents consent because they can use that against her to prove that she is unfit and then they can take the baby away. My advice to you is too discuss the pregnancy with her parents. They will eventually find out anyways. If they say for you to stay away then it's best that you do. I realize that would be difficult but you don't want to give her parents any ammo to use against you. Get your parents to help you find an attorney for visitation rights. And be sure to pay child support even if not court ordered. That way you can prove to a judge that you are a fit parent. Good luck hope everything works out for the 3 of you.
