Powder and liqioud are both good, but I would recommend liquid, because it gives you a subtle and fresh look without totally caking your face to look like a powdered donut.
The pros of using liquid is that your face will have a better complex reflection, and will look more natural and calmer with the tint of gloss to it. When blended evenly across your face, liquid gives you the look of perfection...like a flawless face without looking like a fake. So, liquid definately has the pros of it all.
The cons of liquid is that it sometimes can get messy; and if you don't even it out, it can drip off your face and leave streaks and make a huge mess. So, unless you even it out right, you'll have a streaky, grim-looking face.
Powder is somewhat easier and less messy to put on, and it's sort of portable; you can apply it at home, in the car, and basically everywhere. In that aspect, it's like lipgloss. But, powder is too dry, and it can give your face a dry, caked-up look that is unappealing and sweaty. Besides, powder has a more chemical-like smell, and when you talk to someone, all they smell is the chemicals of the powder.

It depends on your skin type.
If you have oily skin, stay away from liquid cause it can melt off your skin when you sweat. So powder is better to control the oil on your face.
If you have dry skin, powder can make it look slightly blotchy. So either liquid or a mousse is good, so that it hydrates your face.
If you have combination skin, I would suggest either a powder to liquid finish like Covergirl's Aquasmooth or a whipped mousse is also good. If you feel you're a little more on the oily side of combination, then set your makeup with a loose powder to control it.
If you have normal skin, I would suggest a tinted moisturizer or practically anything that works for you.
If you have acne prone skin, brands like Neutrogena have acne medicated foundation that will work well with your skin.
Good luck! I hope you find the right one for you.

I personally use liquid foundation. The only reason though is because that's what my mom uses and so far it works for me. I think with a liquid you can really blend it in so it looks natural. Plus it works as a coverup for like spots and stuff. I have used powder before but it was like when I first started wearing makeup so I don't really remember how much I liked it or didn't like it.

Powder foundation is a good way to cover up problem areas without looking like you're wearing a lot of makeup. I prefer powder over liquid because liquid tends to clog pores; making it hard for your skin to "breathe."

I use Loreal's HIP liquid foundation, then set it with a light dusting of loose powder. It always comes out flawless and very natural looking.. Nothing worse than a pancake batter face.

the main purpose of foundation is to even out the skins texture and colour and to cover minor imperfections.today the colour range is extensive from flat white to the deepest mahogany but the colour should always match the skin tone
liquids ---------these provide only a light protective film as they have a high % of water and a low % of oil because of the low oil% they are suitable for greasy skin but not a blemished skin as it does not provide a adequate cover
powder-----------IE all in 1 foundation ..these r made from a mixture of cream and powder and require a damp sponge for application because they can be difficult to apply .they are not suitable therefore on a dry or sensitive skin

ok well liqid is good for covering like dark spots or uneven skin tones and it gives u a smooth finish but it does wear of easily powder is more for covering pimples coz liquid only covers the redness of the pimple but u can still see the pimple but if u use powder ur pimple willl be less noticable . and well if u need alot of covergae then use foundation but if u need lite covergae use powder coz powder is less heavy and it gives a smooth soft look it doesn't show much that u r wearing makeup

I've used both..currently using bare minerals. It looks very natural. However, liquid looks more polished. So if you're going for natural woman, i'd go with powder. If you're into more glam looks, go liquid. They both cover the skin about the same.
