I have an automatic ford ranger, and i want to learn how to drive a stick. the inconsistant gear changes kindof irritate me, and i was just wondering if it could go to manual? im not very interested in doing it, but i was just wondering if it was possible

if you want to learn how to drive stick, borrow your parents or a friends car... se if they'll teach you. swapping stickshift stuff into your ranger is a lot of work. you'd need to replace the tranny (duh), possibly your driveshaft (unless its 4wd... then you may have other issues). stuff inside your cab so the shifter can come through, etc. i'd say leave it the way it is... and just imagine you're driving standard lol.

You can do anything if you want to spend enough money. But putting a manual tranny in your ranger is an exercise in futility. Best to just trade it for a manual tranny one in my opinion!
