We have a hard drive from another computer that has pornography on it. How do you totally get rid of any trace of this stuff?

You can use BCWipe to delete any traces of files which you do not want to recover. BCWipe will overwrite the deleted files' clusters with random binary information thus render the information unretrievable.

Get a big sledge hammer and go to town on the disk.

Even with formatting, there are programs out there that can bring these pictures back. Also if its a 2nd hand disk you never know what else is lurking on there....

if you know the name of the files or sites, heres where you go, click start, move mouse over search and click onto files and folder.. type in a file or folder name and find the file..right click and scroll down 2 where it says delete : ) empty recycle bin..after you delete, close all windows and do a virus scan ..

Either format it or take it to a specialist, they will do it for a small charge, if they are decent guys.
