I play Magic: The Gathering, but had to (semi) give it up because of work and school. I do play on Magic: The Gathering Online every now and again. I used to play in the free room (you don't need an account for it), but I recently bought an account and some virtual cards and have been playing in the other rooms (which you need an account for). You could give it a try.

For more info, visit the MTGO website. The free game server is under "Downloads" on the right side of the screen. One word of warning, though: it's a big download and may take a while.

I play. I had the same problem as you. I used to play paper magic with my friends and cousins, but then they all stopped playing, so i switched to MTGO (magic the gathering online) there are always about 1500 players online, u can join a draft whenever you want (3 am drafts!!!!) it is a little more expensive than paper magic, but it's worth it because of the amount of people to play with.

Depends a lot on where you're at. All card games seem to develop pockets of active players with a certain ammount of overlap. I'd recommend looking for stores that run tournaments in your area or players by checking out the Wizards forums or any of the dedicated MTG sites like Brainburst. As a major player, you probably know more of them than I do.

I play, and try to do it competitively, but the area im in doesnt have many decent players to test with and was hard to get ready for tournaments. I decided to start going around to local shops and after ahwile found a couple others in my same position. My best advice is just to get out and meet as many other local players, and even if some arent as good as you, testing with them will help their skills and will continusly make them more of a challange making you better in the process.
