I could just hit, knock myself in the head! Going almost through the same thing! Tomorrow, or today, get yr resume, papers, dates, references, letters of recommendations, all set in a nice folder. Have names, dates, phone # of temp. agencies, and call many tomorrow morning. Have a notebook, pen, money, credit card, all at yr disposel for YOU to use.
Tonight-now- go through the yellow pages, make a list of places to call. Find out their locations. Do you have bank accts? Sometimes apartment managers will let you wait maybe two weeks to pay yr rent.

Don't just depend on the internet. Look through the yellow pages and make phone calls that relate to your profession and ask if they're hiring.
If you have valuables, sell them. You can always get back what you loose. Right now focus on survival.

In many cities, churches and other organizations will help those in need with bills that are past due. Especially if you have children or special needs. You can always check your local department of human services, salvation army and churches. Good Luck. I've been there before.

Well you've gotten a lot of good advice.... just one more for you...
Don't be too proud... be willing to do what it takes to legally make a living... even if it seems beneath you... I'd rather work doing anything than nothing at all.

Prostitution?
OK, seriously, you DON'T need other people to give you a job. Work for yourself, even if it means just buying cheap chocolate and selling it for more by being at the right place (stations?) You don't need a boss.

Talk to your landlord if your renting and your mortgage company if you're buying....you never know....they maybe understanding for a small period of time.
If you're a responsible person and you're on good terms with your family you maybe able to borrow money from them to hold you until you find employment.
