Bank owned properties are public record. You should be able to go to the county clerk to find out. Or, even better you can research the property online. One listing service that seems pretty reputable is Foreclosure.com.

Find out where you go to pay property tax. Believe me, if anyone would know,its the tax people! Good Luck!
