Yeah, it means just that. If your ears are burning, someone is talking about you. There is another saying which is if your left ear burns it is your lover talking about you and the right ear is your mother.
Don't know if it's true though?
If anything else is burning - get to the doctors or call the fire brigade!

No it's not true!!! that is an old saying our moms and Grand mom has put in our heads,along with black cats crossing in front of you that you will have bad luck, and so on don't be live that. when ones ears are hot, ringing, are popping, it's a sind of hearing lost. are earwax if you have been inserting any object into the ear can cause burning of the ear also.

It is an old wives tale - I've also heard that if individual ears burn / itch its a case of left for love & right for spite. That is if your left ear is burning what's being said is loving etc. If both ears are burning............ ;o))

It's an old saying. If you and a friend are gossiping and tearing someone else up (who is not present), you would say "I'll bet their ears are burning." Because you are talking bad about them.

yeah...my ears were burning so I knew someone was talking about me.....I don't know where it came from...but i say that...lol...
