Hon the best thing you can do is to go and attend the funeral to show your support,,,,,,,,,,,,And when you are in line to talk to the family, all you have to do is say that "I'm sorry for your loss......Just know that we are here if you need anything"....That is all you need to do.....Many people tell them that so don't expect them to call you....It's just something nice to say with meaning.

I would call, I would not just show up, they may not feel up to the company. Why not cook them dinner, something that can be thrown in the freezer, just in case they already have dinner (maybe lasagna). Offer to help mow the lawn or take the dog for a walk, every day things they may not have a chance to do right now. Send a card to the family and flowers to the funeral home.

Go down to the house with some kinda of food cuz thats how you say sorry is bring food. And bring a card too. Talk to them invite yourselves in and make yourself comfortable cuz they wont do it for you. Just show them your sorrow and hug or comfort them. Then they will feel the need that if they need someone to talk to then they have someone.
good luck.
my condolences go to the family.

Either call or write a sincere note expressing your feelings and desires to help in any way you can while they go through this difficult time. I'm sure they will appreciate your concern.
You can also visit them face to face and let them know you are thinking about them and that you're there for them. God bless you.

Go round to their house with flowers or a condolence card and just let them know if there is anything they need that they can call on you.

I would call and say we would like to call on you , as a condolence call. Don't be pushy, certainly not at this time. Maybe bring a covered dish, so the family doesn't have to cook.

sorry, but its not the end of the world. people die... that why we live. so not to be rude or anything, but people can't go around tiptoeing around someone who lost their father... if it never crossed that persons mind that her father would die in her life time, then she wasn't realistic.
so my point is... don't worry about what to do so much, and just follow your instinct... if you are such good friends, then get the hell over there and give condolences!
