Was it in Brussels? if it is a Belgian number plate, then it is a Royal Family car (may be King Albert the second, Queen Paula or Prince Philip)

I drove down the M6 some years ago behing a gold (or bronze) Rolls Royce with the number plare 'U2 BONO' Don't think it was anyone important though.
