theres normally a Function button (Fn) at the bottom left of the keypad - usually coloured blue. There should also be another key with a little picture of the sun on it - this is usually on one of the number keys. Press the two of them together and hey presto!

If you dont have these keys, or anything similar then the brightness can be software controlled - this is dependent on the type of display adapter you have in your laptop.

If you right-click on the desktop, and go to properties and then click the settings tab, you should see a button called "Advanced" - press that. Hopefully if brightness can be altered through software, you will fin the correct option in here.

There should be +/- with brightness symbols along the Function keys, usually used along with the colour matched Fn button (bottom left?)
