Well, it is Halloween; but if the kids are really small....then it wouldn't be appropriate.

whatever my kids want to dress up as i will let them. they are 9 and 11 years old so i think it would be alright for them to be something gory. but any child younger than 8 shouldnt.

My 5 year old is going to be Captian Jack Sparrow this year. I wouldn't allow him to dress up as something scarry yet because he is too young, just as I wouldn't allow him to watch scarry things on television yet. I love Halloween and I love horror movies, but I am against letting my child watch things I know will scare him, or not make him feel safe laying in his own bed at night. A parent's wish is for their child to feel safe and secure and I know my son would be scarred if he had a scarry costume hanging up in his closet right now.

I have a nine-month-old little boy. He's going to be a pumpkin (well, a jack-o-lantern, actually). I've got four costumes for him, but that's the only one that will fit him. He loves it, though. It's so cute. The others are a monkey, a dinosaur, and a tiger.
My 7-year-old brother wants to be a ninja. He does that almost every year. That's his favorite. One year he went a different route, though, and was a hobo. It was hilarious.

I would if they wanted, but right now my son is only 2 1/2. He's a prince. My baby daughter will be Snow White.
When they get older they can be whatever they like. The benefit of dressing up as something scary is that it helps you become less afraid of it, because you're walking around in its shoes. Taking the darkness and bringing it to light. That's why Halloween is good for you psychologically.

nothing gory....ever.
My seven year old has been a flower, a leopard, a lion, a dog, Dora the Explorer, and this year....a Tigress!
I just don't like all of that bloody gory stuff.. in my opinion, its not for kids.

truly, if I had any, i might want to flow with them notwithstanding. I celebrate Halloween. it is a calming custom. I somewhat were invited by technique of my fraternity for a Halloween dress social gathering. (U.C.L.A.)

I allow my kids to pick their costumes...within reason (no hookers or anything like that).
I have one going as a frog, one is a football player (Go Chiefs!), and one will be Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. The one going as the football player wanted to be a troll, but figured it would be easier to piece together the football player...I was pushing for the troll.

I should hope that parents will allow their children to dress up in gory costumes.People are becoming way too alarmist about the simple things.
