I have Windows XP installed on 20Gb HDD, I want to move it onto a bigger one. Is there an easy way of doing this without complete rebuild of Operating System?

Norton Ghost, you'll have to install the drive in your pc first, or fit it into a usb case.

Use Norton Ghost to create an exact image of ur hard drive and copy that image onto the new drive. OR connect the new drive to ur PC while it's running windows from the old drive, copy EVERYTHING from ur old drive to the exact place on the new drive (i.e. contents of the root directory in C: to the root directory in new C:). Make sure u have the option to show all system and hidden files on so that everything will get copied. Then try the new drive before u erase the old one to make sure it works.

There are several programs available to do this. Most of the good ones are not free. Search www.download.com or google for free drive imaging programs. There are too many to list. I personally use Acronis True Image, There is a trial version tat miht mee your needs but it will expire after 30 days. I'm not sure if it is fully functional in trial mode. Definately worth a shot. You would need to create an image file. Norton Ghost is good for this. I think also Alcohol120% will do this. Once you have an image file you just move the whole thing over to another drive.

I use Norton Ghost. It can create a complete image of the partition, which can them be restored to the new drive. During the restore process you can specify that you want the new partition to be your boot drive.
