My dish washer wont drain completely , what are the potential reasons for this? I have tried running a cycle with drain cleaner, but that did not fix it.

It is clogged with old food not completely washed from the plates. Remove all dishes and use a strong plumbing detergent (not lye), which should remove the cloggage. Afterwards, run it empty to wash away all harmful chemicals, and it should work fine.

In our journey servicing Kenmore, they prefer a minimum of a three/4 inch diameter hose to perfect drain. those pumps that are in a Kenmore received't develope sufficient rigidity adversarial to the resistance of one million/2 or 5/8 hose. try a three/4 inch hose offered at an vehicle elements furnish shop alongside with NAPA or Autozone, enable it unload into an empty 5 gallon pail on an ordeal run. Then make particular you've a huge length installation in the sink drain once you end hooking up because the perfect degree . this can be an basic thanks to fix dishwashers which couldn't drain each and every of ways.

The drain hose may not have the proper loop in it and thus water is just sitting there as water seeks its own level. Also try filling up the sink with water and then letting it down (warm water is fine) and see if you have a decent vortex this will let you know if the drain is clear or needs to be water Jetted

It might be that the drain pipe has dropped and doesn't go higher than the level where it attaches to the sink drain. Try hooking it up as high as you can under the sink, kind of like a p-trap.

there could be food particles that the drain cleaner might not eat up as its trying to do its job...that or a dish/utensil

you should have a plumber come out and look at it....or if you recently bought your appliance from Lowe's or Home Depot...check and see if the warranty is still good...

good luck!
