Girl,I can only say:horrible that ticking sound.I've had is so bad that my Swatch watch had to come of my wrist.I even heard that when it was silent.
Funny,I'm cured of it.
Now ,in my living room I have very annoying ticking clocks and I don't even hear them. And i go to bed wearing a steel Swatch, that ticks like the Big Ben in London.
How is this possible:I developed "tinnitus"after neck surgery. The whole day long you hear this whistling sound in your ear.
And I MEAN:24/7Try sleeping then!I GOT MYSELF IN SUCH A STATE THAT I CAN IGNORE THAT RINGING IN MY EAR.Now the most pestering sound doesn't have any effect on me anymore.I switch of the capability to hear it.Playing music the whole day helped a lot,
But I do feel for you and your problem
Been there,done it.
Good luck.

Yes, I can fall asleep with a clock ticking, I do it every night. Outside my room in the hallway there is a large wall clock. I think I have just gotten used to it and don't even notice it anymore.

I can. After a while it becomes background noise, and I tune it out.

A ticking clock will also help a very small animal or child to sleep because it reminds them of the heartbeat of their mother. We used to always put a clock in with a new puppy to help it sleep, but we made sure the alarm wasn't on.

It really isn't easy to go to sleep to the tune of the clock ticking. Try setting it in another room. If you can't put it in another room, then try sleeping to music, so that the music drowns out the ticking.

I can sleep through a fire alarm. The ticking of a clock is soothing to me.

If it's a steady ticking then, yes. If it's an annoying ticking then, no.
