University in Egypt embroiled in battle of the veil !

Why do they cover everything, even when in their religion it doesn't say anything about covering everything, inculding the hands, and some even the eyes?

I have an Idea. How about since they don't want anyone to see their hair, face, skin or even their eyes! how about stay at home! they can learn on the internet, work at home, do everything behind closed doors away from everyones eyes! and they wouldn't have to bother with all that clothing! It does not sound to good, but that rule is man made, not in their religion!
Any ideas?

not_exactly, sorry man, but you are wrong their prophet recommended that they should cover up, and dress modestly, not cover their face and eyes.

that rule was man made ...just another version of the chasity belt. For security reasons...they will have to put aside that tradition if they want to live in my country !

Well, it was something that was recommended by their Prophet, and with all due respect, we should just let those women practice their religion freely. We have no right to tell them to stay home if they cannot show us their faces. If good character and personality really mean more than outward appearance, then we should just let them be.
