Whether your laptop has a wireless network adapter built-in, or whether you buy one (about $50) - they work the same. When you're on the road somewhere that offers wireless internet access (for example a hotel or cafe with wireless access) you simply use their network *INSTEAD* of dialing up.

In most cases, you simply choose their network from a drop-down list of available networks in range and enter the security key, if required. That's it! You then can use the internet normally, the same as if you'd dialed up or plugged into an office LAN. But the network availability is determined by your location- there has to be a wireless network running in order for you to take advantage of it. If the hotel only offers high-speed access via a jack in the wall, the fact that your computer has wireless capability wouldn't matter- you'd have to use a regular cable.

Dial-up requires a phone connection. Wherever you go and want to use PeoplePC you have to use the local phone connection.

If your computer has wireless capability, if there is a local WiFi which is not secured then it will provide you -- automatically -- with Internet access. Your PeoplePC will be unnecessary.

Hmm...your going to need a wireless router as well as the wireless network card, however I have never heard of someone using dial up? Thats bad news my friend.

If you have a dialup internet account, your wireless isn't going to do you any good. You need to get a broadband internet account -- DSL or cable modem -- and a wireless router in order to use your wireless connection.

In my opinion it is better to wire a building for a stable internet connection. There will be alot less latency.

Or you could use your cell phone if it has internet on it, or get a sprint pc card for hi speed internet. It would put you EV DO witch is better than wi-fi
