would you be willing to give up 60% of your earned income in return for having your basic needs met? Basic needs being food, shelter, medical care et.al. the rest of yur income will be your play money. based on averages this would allow the arrogant to have their cake and eat it too and would relieve the poor from fear and anxiety. fear of loosing their home if they go overboard on credit cards. As for myself I am doing pretty well financially but my job entail listening to a lot of people who are not.

That sure would be a better deal than what I have now! Right now, I give up 40% of my income, and what I'm left with still has to cover all my basic needs.

I take it these basic needs are met by the government. Then no way, that's too "big brother". Refer to the novel 1984.

That would mean that some organization would decide how your needs are met, and exactly what those needs are. What would happen then if you did something that didn't agree with said organization? Would you be denied your basic needs?

Without going too conspiracy theory, why would people who b@#ch about the government and their ways give them that kind of power?

But what if my "basic" need for shelter includes a nice big swiming pool and thirty well manicured acres? Who decides? You?

Food? I like to eat early, well and often. Nothing like a 1990 Cab to take the edge off of a hard day at the keyboard.

Let me tell you
How it will be.
There's one for you,
Nineteen for me,

'Cause I'm the taxman.
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

Should five percent
Appear too small,
Be thankful I don't
Take it all.

'Cause I'm the taxman.
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

If you drive a car,
I'll tax the street.
If you drive to city,
I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold,
I'll tax the heat.
If you take a walk,
I'll tax your feet.

Taxman!
'Cause I'm the taxman.
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

Don't ask me what I want it for,
(Uh-uh, Mr. Wilson.)
If you don't want to pay some more.
(Uh-uh, Mr. Heath.)

'Cause I'm the taxman.
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

And my advice to
Those who die.
(Taxman!)
Declare the pennies
On your eyes.
(Taxman!)

'Cause I'm the taxman.
Yeah, I'm the taxman,
And you're working for no one but me.
(Taxman!)
