remake asian films? ie grudge..dark water.

is it because a lot of people are put off by subtitles?

I think it would be a better idea to leave the movie as is and let us view some Eastern talent. I think a lot of people are put off by subtitles.
I think hollywood would actually save money by just producing the american release of a Japanese films or any other forigen film for that matter.
I don't know if people would really want to read a horror movie though.

Actually, because they are really scary, subtitles and all, so they americanize it so more people will watch it here in the states. That little kid with the black eyes scares the hell out of me, not to mention the frog sounding lady that crawls really creepy.

Hollywood can make more money if they remake the movies and there is more jobs for actors

Don't watch them. If they didn't make money, Hollywood would stop cranking them out.
