No. In fact, advertisers like Sprite and making "subliminal" dvr ready commercials that take advantage of the slo-mo feature on a dvr. The only other change that you'll see is advertisers putting their logo in the corner of the screen so you can at least know who's commercial it is while you're fast forwarding it. (who doesn't think french fries when you see McDonald's golden arches) Also, dvd sales for television shows make up for the loss, if there really is a loss, of any advertising dollars that come from dvr use. Here's the kicker...... Product placement. You might fast forward those Coca-Cola commercials during American Idol, but what do you see everytime the cameras are on Randy, Paula and Simon? BIG RED COCA-COLA CUPS What do you see everytime Jeff Gordon win a NASCAR event? He pops out of his window, takes a swig of Pepsi and says "MMM, That's good" then he takes a drink of Gatorade and says "That hit the spot" Trust me, advertisers are not too overly concerned about dvr's.
