Ford makes it almost impossible to get to these wires. It looks like one will need to remove the EFI unit on top of the engine to get to the 3 wires on the driver side of the engine.

All of the manufactures today shoehorn engines into compartments that are too small or the engine too big. When I was younger (35 years ago) Ford made the Mustang Mach I with the big 429 CID V8 stuffed into the engine compartment. There was literally no room to get to the plug on the right rear.

If you see one today you will most likely find that someone has taken a hole saw to the wheel well to get to that rear plug then put a rubber body plug to close it up.

Now I am not saying that is the solution to your vehicle but, Just Maybe, if you remove the wheel well liner on the drivers side you may be able to get to the plugs. If not, VERY CAREFULLY, you may be able to do the same thing we used to do with the Mustang.

Best Wishes.

in many circumstances those wires are linked to the distributor cap and needs to get replaced once you're having a "perplexing" commence. The wires might desire to be effective however the distributor cap frequently is going south, with corrosion of the contacts. each and every so often the corrosion could be wiped clean (sanding) yet will finally pass "undesirable" returned. provider stations might choose to get your organization, so needless to say they might advise a extra time-honored exchange. ------------------------------------ What distributor cap on a 1994 Ranger? The OP did no longer point out having a three.0L v6, yet having owned a 1994 Ranger interior the previous, i understand the two.3L 4 cylinder and four.0L v6 don't have such a creature. i admire distributorless ignition device.

You very well might have to. I have a dakota and my plugs are literally up under the dash, its almost impossible to get to them. You're bound to lose knuckle skin trying to.

Sometimes you just have to remove extra parts and pieces to make the job simpler.
