The more centralized the management, the less efficient it is. Time wasted in meetings rather than productive activity rises in proportion to approximately the cube of the number of people in the organization. As you know if you've experienced both getting a friend to agree to some plan of yours (2 people) and getting 5, 6, or 8 people to agree a project.
