i had my period on the 17th, i was surprised that it was very light, reddish light, lasted only for 2 days, on the 19th i took a pregnancy test and it cam out negative, i am on birth control pills and i started taking them again today, i have no pregnancy symptoms except very mild breast sore. do you think these are pregnancy symptoms because i can't differentiate between what they call implantation bleeding and period, it came exactly the same day it's supposed to. can you please help?

If you think you may be pregnant, stop taking the birth control pill and call your dr, I think you need an appointment. A blood test will show the hcg horomone in your blood as early as 7 days after conception, the home tests detect the hcg at 2 weeks the earliest.

I don't think there are any visual differences between the two, but implantation bleeding is caused when an egg implants into the uterine wall, whereas a period is in simple terms that wall being shed.

If you just started taking birth control pills again after stopping that can interfere with your period. Even if you were taking them continuously they could mess with it, so I wouldnt really worry about it. Pills can also make your period much lighter and shorter regularly. And your period or right before (and probably BC pills again) can make your breasts sore.

It doesn't sound like your pregnant, but take a test to make sure.

I had a very similar experience in July. I thought that I was having my period, and it only lasted a day, and then it stopped. I took a pregnancy test, it was negative. I waited about 24 hours, bought another and took it and I was pregnant. It is hard to tell the difference between the implantation bleeding and your period. I suggest going to the doctor or buying another pregnancy test just to make sure. Good luck!

Implantation bleeding will happen anyday from 6 to 12 days after conception. It is very very light. I had it with 2 of my pregnancies. I thought I was starting my period, because I had a tiny amount of blood on the toilet paper, and then grabbed a tampon. Later on in the day the tampon was only half full. That was it. No more blood again.

Dont panic, but you might be pregnant. Its best to wait till your next period scheduled period to be sure. Implantation bleeding is in fact a very light spotting bleeding lasting about 2 days, breast soreness is also a positive sign towards pregnancy. I know its hard to wait but it is hardly possible for your test to show your results during implantation.
