I used it once a while ago...and had to close my account. It said someone was logged in and I got emails saying I owed this company like $100 for stuff I never ordered. How do I avoid this from happening again?

Yes, I think it's very safe. I use it all the time.
There are a lot of crooks that send out bogus emails trying to trick you into logging into a web address that THEY PROVIDE in the email to 'verify' your account info. Don't ever do that. It's called phising, and its how they get your user name and password.
Here's what I do. I basically ignore anything Paypal sends to me. If it 'says' it came from Paypal, I ignore it. It gets automatically deleted. If there's a problem with my Paypal account, I'll catch it the next time I log on to the Paypal server on my own.
In the whole 4 years or so I've been using Paypal, I've only had one legitimate problem, and that was when my credit card was going to expire. It took me about 5 minutes to fix that, and then I was good to go again.
Yes, I'd use Paypal, I think its safe. Just delete any emails that say they're from Paypal and you should be ok to go.

Yes it is very safe U probably got a Scam E-Mail it isn't PayPal not unless they use your name a scam e-mail says dear sir or madem.I just got one today & I reported it to E-Bay they informed me right away it was a Scam Letter.Don't give no one your password.But yes very safe I buy on e-bay all the time & I use my paypal account never no problems.Good luck

No, at least in my experience, it is NOT safe. I used it to purchase an item a few years back and they took out almost twice as much money. Luckily, it wasn't much, but I never got it back. Of course they claimed it never happened, but it was there in black and white on my bank statement. I can't speak for all, but I would not give them any info and will never use them again.

Make sure when you get emails from them it is addressed to you by your name and NOT paypal member. If it says Dear paypal member or something similar it is a phishing site trying to gain access to your password and financial information. Also, I would change my password every so often.

I believe pay pal to be very safe. I have used it for years, being a seller on Ebay, I highly recommend pay pal.

I use Pay Pal and I haven't had any problems. Just be careful about who your sending money to and verify it.
