Sounds as if you could have a short or loose cable in your indicator column at the switch. Get someon to take off the shroud from the steering wheel (normally held on by some screws below the steering wheel, ie above your lap).

When you say indicator do you mean turn signals. If you do sometimes when they flash faster it means one of the turn signals is bad. It could also mean you have a short in the turn signal system. With your other symptoms I lean toward the short. It is easy to check your turn signals, all of them. Just have some one check them while you work them, also have the person check your brake lights, While they are checking the other lights.

If one indicator is going faster then normal it means that the one on the other side isn't working. Taking into account the other symptoms I say you most probably have a loose wire.

Normally an indicator running faster than normal means one of your indicator bulbs outside has gone however from what you said it sounds like you might have a short somewhere. take it to a garage but also check your indicators are all working.

There may be an electrical short somewhere probably caused by the weather. Get it looked at by an auto electrician.
