Love but no passion

2006-10-22 08:04:16 · answer #1 · answered by onelonevoice 5 · 0 0

HAHA I've heard this one before...it was my first real boyfriend of 4 years. I broke up with him and then tried my best to win him back. Eventually he told me "I will always love you, I'm just not in love with you anymore...the passion is gone". So...at first I thought this was just the world's biggest cop-out and he was the world's biggest jerk, but...through the years, I've come to realize that it is possible to "love" someone, but to not be "in love" with them. I think that loving someone is feeling as though they are a significant part of your life in one way or another, whether they are in the past, present or will be there in the future. To be in love with someone means that you want to spend your life with the person, you want to share the things that you never wanted to share before... That's my best explanation...

There are so many ways to love people you love family different than you love a significant other. Being in love with someone is a special bond your all as in a significant other. so my guess if some one loves you but not in love with you it is more than a friend but not as a significant other like a spouse or lover.

I love several ex-boyfriends but am not in love with them. I love them for the qualities they have, but I don't love them in the way that I want to still be with them or share a life with them. I mean, I don't want to see them get hit by a bus, but then I don't want to wake up to their face everyday for the next 50 years either.

You can love someone, but not be in-love with them,, love as a friend,,,, not as a companion, for life,,, all the passion you have in love.

"I love you, but i'm not In love with you" means you care for and love this person as a friend but nothing more.
