definately get a second opinion, preferably by a specialist!! this is your baby, and shouldn't just accept any answer that a doctor gives you, especially if your instincts are telling you that they are wrong. with the doubt you present, a second oppinion is DEFINATELY needed!

It may be a chronic respiratory infection. If you smoke, that too will cause asthma like symptoms. Try running an air purifier in your home. I f you use a humidifier, they can harbor bacteria that can cause illness too.
Make sure your doctor is fully aware and that you want more done to find out the problem.
Hope Your Baby Gets Well Soon!

My son had a horrible cough/cold when he was 2 1/2 months old. It was not RSV, but he had to be on a nebulizer ever 4 hours to help clear out his lungs as well as be on antibiotics. Ask the doctor about this.

Breathing is SO serious, and can become a problem quickly. My baby boy has asthma and it started early. When he's sick, I know that if I dont give him neb treatments, he will end up in the hospital with his pulse ox down in the 80's. Go to another dr!!

It could be an allergy to his formula. My daughter is a milk allergy and had a problem with wheezing early on also. The Dr put her on soy formula..Isomil...and it took care of the problem. Good luck
