I thought members of the electoral college were called "electors."

I want to agree with the above respondents: Electoral Delegates from the "winning party".

It can get even more complicated than that! For instance, the electoral delegates are selected by each party and depending who receives the most votes for that state, the Party gets to send up those people to cast the ballot. In many places, those delegates are still not "bound" by the election process. In a couple of cases, an electoral delegate has cast a presidential vote for someone not even on the ballot!

I don't call it winning anyway. Either way, America loses. The Democrats and Republicans have run to the middle so much and placated so many people with money, that there's not a thin dime's difference in their overall performance.

For me, I vote third party only. You have more choices than you are led to believe. To see ALL of the ballot choices in your district, go to Project Vote Smart.

Voters . I agree with dissolving the Electoral College.
We must elect the President by the popular vote.
The Electoral College is out-dated and truly does not represent the voice of the American public. It represents
how political parties can win without the popular vote.
It has happen before and it will continue to happen unless the Electoral Congress is dissolved.

I assume you're referring to the electors who actually elect the president. Otherwise, the common person who votes is called a voter. Abolish the Electoral College and all its electors!! We should go to direct elections.

The public votes and then the Electoral College casts ballots based on who won each state.
