The value of what they produce. A genius may be caught in the same abyss but they come out the other side with a work of art, an invention, a book, something magical. The insane don't have anything to show for it. A genius is a talented, creative madman.

A genius is someone who uses his or her highly unique way of thinking to affect the world in a meaningful way that stands out amongst the average people who pursue their chosen endeavor.

An insane person has a highly unique way of thinking too, but often fails to express this thinking through recognizably meaningful actions, that command respect for their novelty.

Also, the "insane" person often finds it difficult or impossible to perform day-to-day functions, although some geniuses occasionally have this problem too.

There can be an overlap btw the two. And the definitions I use rely on public consensus, which can be problematic since the def. of genius and insanity also differ depending on which culture and social circumstances you're observing.

that is by way of fact the human techniques is a suitcase. you could in basic terms in effective condition extremely some clothing in a suitcase. in case you fill the suitcase with footwear you will continually be one step forward whilst it includes footwear, yet you will additionally continually be bare from the ankles up, and being bare from the ankles up in public each and all the time gets you a attractiveness for being insane. the actuality that each and every person savants are socially maladjusted proves previous doubt the suitcase concept. what distinguishes between a savant and a sapient clever individual? different than the prognosis of savant syndrome, no longer something unavoidably. what's the excellence between a sophisticate or sychophant and a metaphysician? different than the definitions therein, no longer something unavoidably. The suitcase concept continues to be completely intact inspite of the indisputable fact that, so i'm unsure what you have been getting at.

genius and insanity are basically the same thing. Both attempt things that other people look on as impossible. The difference is that genius can express in a rational way what it is attempting to do. Insanity is just that: absoltively, posilutely insane. On important thing to remember: the truly insane are incapable of understanding that they are insane. It never crosses their minds that talking to people that no one else can see is downright crazy.

for me, there is no line. some people out there can be defined as 'genius' for several reasons. one of those reasons is that they show no insanity and have control over what they say and do. but if you have no sanity, you have little to no personal creativity. the reason i say i have no line of definition between them is that i let both sides of my mind work when i am in school, and when i am creating artwork. one side for educational purposes and the other for creativity. now there are types of insanity that are dangerous, and i am not saying to go for them for the sake of creativity. but the non-dangerous visions of insanity are those that give us individuality. for dangerous insanity the line in lost control over emotions, actions, perceptions and invisionments. for safe or creative insanity, there should be no line drawn between itself, and genius.

The internal structure of that person's soul defines them.
Not the ability of their mind. Its their actions that prove their importance to humanity.

Note many genius has gone insane because of that lack of balance or the misuse of their productivity with or without their permission.

A genius is one who uses intellect to create or do something better. The insane person is one who doesn't have the intellect.

Or:

The genius is someone who builds a machine to see the past.
The insane is someone who believes himself to be Napolean.

Hitler was a madman. Einstein was a genius in math and physics. I don't see a relationship between the two.
