i have been drumming for a few years and am looking into buying a new kit...unfortunatley im not very good with makes lol...im looking at buying the "ludwig LC125 combo" or "yamaha rydeen kit" which one is better...my understanding is that ludwig is a good make??

If you like a good warm sound, go with Yamaha. The Maple shells project well with out excessive over ring. Check out musiciansfriend.com, they have that set for under 500 dollars, including stands. The problem with guitar center is they usually charge extra for stands.

Ludwig is an excellent brand. i see yamaha as more of an off brand make, and ludwig is more professional.

My choice would be Ludwig. They seem more durable to me.
