I guess the world is still THIS consumed with spreading and promoting hatred by asking "Why do white people.." and "Why do black people..." questions. And "black women are ugly" and so forth. Just wondering, those of you who are the most racist against other races, where are you from? I am from Philadelphia (and lived here all of my 32 years, minus college) and I haven't heard so many racist comments. Interracial couples do not garner attention, and I never hear people making such comments about race mixing, or screaming that their race is "best". Harping on hatred seems like it would be tiresome. BTW I am a black woman, and I have friends of different races and race isn't an issue. Is it because I am from a big city? Or is racism this pervasive and I live in an insulated environment and it's not the norm?

midwestbruin: Your take on this is very interesting. Might I ask why do you seem to live in cities with high black populations if you take such issue with us? Also, blacks do not ruin every city. There's no white trash doing the same thing???? Lastly, race mixing has been going on since the beginning of time. Who's pure blood anything anymore? Blacks can't wait to race mix? What about the people that are mixing with them? They're not exactly raping people, you know!

I agree that this site has an unbelievable amount of racist cr*p on it.
I just wanted to point out that there is an Abuse Report system. If a question or answer violates the Guidelines (link at the bottom of every page), such as Epithets, or Insulting Other Participants, you should click the Report Abuse link (or the little flag widget) and submit a report.
Don't answer the post, just report it. If the staffer who gets the report agrees it violates the guidelines, it will be removed and the person docked points.
People who do nothing but spew hate and refuse to stop are often banned from the site.
Notice, this system isn't for mere disagreement, but for insults, racial slurs, and the like (and for non-questions or answers, chat, and other things, too -- see guidelines).
My impression is that the haters on this site are a vocal minority. They stand out because of their offensiveness and eagerness to weigh in as often as possible.

well i will say this that you are from the north, and unfortunately in the south racism is very predominant. KKK walks down city roads spewing there garbage, Skin heads are killing people, and even blacks have there little clicks, Spewing there garbage. I will say that i have meant alot of people from the north or west, and they have no idea why the question of racism is still such a strong presents in our world, it because some wont let it die, and i am not just talking about white people i have actually meant more racest black people than white. Mostly because if a white person even so much as politely offend a black person they have to pull a podium out of there *** and publicly apologize, why when black people do it they get praised for it? and alot of people are tired of it so it will never go away until both sides realize that the hate that is being spread is there own damn fault.

I'm from Florida, I grew up in a racist environment. My dad , if we went out to eat and there were more African-Americans or just 1 mixed race couple, he would turn and walk out the door, he refused to eat there. He isn't as bad nowa days, he even works close with a guy that's African-American and thinks the guy is alright. Honestly, I never understood his pure hatred for blacks. Now that I'm older I understand his dislike when I was younger. But, somehow, me, my brother, and our mom were never racist, and still aren't. My kids, and my brothers kids, are being raised that the color of a persons skin has never even been brought up. They are being raised that what matters most is whats inside, and how a person acts.
I like what advicemom said, there is only one race, the human race!!!

Gurl friend I hear you. I get so sick of those same questions. We need to realize that we are all the human race. God loves variety. If we were all exactly the same, this world would be a very boring place to live on. The main reason why there's so much hatred in the world is the fact that humans have inherited imperfection from our first parents, Adam & Eve and the second reason is because of Satan the Devil & his demons having a negative influence on people's thinking.

I think that some people just find it amusing in some sick way, to incite people,. So they make these ignorant comments that otherwise they would not have the nerve to make, anonymity of the Internet, is my guess. Personally, no I'm not a racist, or prejudice in any way. My entire family is like the united nations. We represent all cultures, Polish, Mexican, Black, White, Italian, American Indian and Irish. I just think it is pretty sad that some people are so biased and close minded. If they would open there minds they would discover that we as humans are more alike inspite of our differences than we are different. God bless

No. racism is not this pervasive.. but when you give them a sounding board and a way to try to spread their hate through something like yahoo Q&A .. they take full advantage of it. As you can see by the responses they get back, 99% of the people call them on the carpet for it. Good Luck ! :)

people need to realize there is only the human race. the difference is only in appearance and culture. i am sick of all the "ethnic" labelling and hating myself, people need to get a life and work together on really important issues like education and poverty, not dwell on who's white, black or whatever.
