I'd have a hard time believing that your b/f would be able to convince a judge that he is responsible enough to take care of your kids if he wasn't responsible enough to marry you. It sounds like his Mother is involved and wants the kids. Guys just aren't like that. You need to be tough here, but intelligent! Any further communication between you two needs to be recorded! Also legally you need to let this guy know he is being recorded. Don't bluff, that's just stupid, do it. If any conversation leans toward change in custody, just say no and state any further discussion on this subject will have to come from his attorney. Be prepared to get legal assistance, since your a single mom, or it appears that way, you might want to check with a paralegal organization. Listen, i'm a guy and normally would not give advice like this to a woman, but i've seen how evil a sons mother can be when she goes after the grandkids.

Depending on the state that you live in the situations may vary.

In Pa, you must have full custody of your child to limit what the other half can do. If not, the other parent can walk in at any time of day and take the child because there isn't anything set up.

If I were you, I would contact your local state building/domestic relations/family services and see what you might have to do. You may have to file for temporary custody to protect you and your son until you can get with a court appointed lawyer (there is aide available if you don't have the means) or your own. But don't piss around with it and wait do what you have to do soon.

Depends on your location. Most states, if your not married, the boyfriend, even if he is on the birth certificate, does not have rights to the child until he takes you to court and legitimates the child. Then he can ask for visitation. If he has not done that, then he can be charged with kidnapping from the start if he tries anything.

in eyes of law its his son as well and not a crime to be a father and takeing him anywhere isnt against the law . you need to go to a lawyer now before anything occurs and learn your rights in your state and get ball rolling on support or any other things to assure your child has the best chance in this parenting situation . you are treated the same in haveing a child between you two as if you were married . dont wait to see what he will do . you may be able to file a paper stopping him from takeing the child without your permission until this is settled so get started now . best thing to do is work this out between the two of you before you go to court but lawyer is vital in perventing this guy from tareing you two apart until court hearing on this . many use kids to scare the other in getting what they want or not fileing child support so get moveing . good luck

There is a possiblity that he could, but if you are doing all the right things, then he can't teach. If you have a good job, a good environment for the child, and can handle all the responsiblity, than you are fine and he doesn't stand a chance.

he could try.. but if your doing ok by your self and not doing drugs and drink all the time.. and you can pay for this child by your self.. the courts most likely want take a child from his mother.. but if the dad have proof of anything like drugs or what ever.. then they might.. but dont worry if your a good mother they wont take him from you..

Neither one should take the child from the other....the child has two parents...share!!!

Is one parent unfit??? then that is a different story.

Child is #1 before all others.
