D'abord is a very common word in french that you can use in enumerating clauses like: d'abord nous irons dejeuner et apres on ira au cinema

Well "d'abord" means "first" and "tout d'abord" means "at first".
So you could say "D'abord, il vous faudra commencer par le commencement" meaning "First you'll need to start by the beginning". Or you could also say :"Tout d'abord, il s'est levé et puis il a parlé." meaning "first he stood up and then he spoke".
