I need to know if there is anyone that can tell me what can be done to help with the smell of urine in my elderly mom's room.She has a personal toilet in her room for night use.And it makes her room and the surronding areas smell very bad.Smell is always in her room even when cleaned and no urine in the room.Is ther anything I can use in the room that will help to contain the smell?

Looking for something that can be left in the room to remove or contain the odor.I was thinking about an ionic breeze or something like that but didn't know if it would work.Someone once told me something about charcoals.Anybody know?

God bless you. You are such a nice daughter. Charcoal filters are used in gas masks and other types of respirators for work. I think that would be a good idea to find a air purifier with a good charcoal filter in it. The charcoal filters at work need changing often and so might an air purifier. That may be expensive. I know my grandma cannot handle strong cleaners like bleach so with elderly people you really need to be resourceful.

Fabreeze. Also, keep her and the room clean. Even that will not help 100%, if she is very old and ill the odor is emanating from their pours and only keeping her clean will help some. Also, keep the bedding clean and use a pad under the sheets.

If you are talking about a commode chair, the bucket can be rinsed with a solution of white vinegar and water. I think the ratio is 10 water to 1 vinegar.

You must bathe her more. force her if unwilling. Open windows often. Let air in. Spray Lysol & other power ful room deodorizers. she's probably incontinent & needs "DEPENDS" .

yes, you can use baby powder and sprinkle it in the trash basket, along with arm and hammer carpet fresh, or baking soda
