This is a serious question. It's my dad's birthday and I'm taking him out for dinner. He wants to go one restaurant in particular. The problem is, I don't like going to buffets because I can't eat a lot in one sitting and I never feel as if I'm getting my money's worth. Honestly, I don't feel like paying 25 bucks for my plate when I can only eat a plate and a half (tops) Never have room for desert. suggestions plz!!!!!!

Take your dad where he wants to go on his birthday. Forget about the money you feel you are wasting. I don't think he taught you to break the rules, did he? Besides, it is "all you can eat" and 1 1/2 plates is all you can eat so you are getting your money's worth. It is worth at least that much to take your dad where he wants to go. When you lose your parents, you will realize how silly stuff like this is.

This may work. Make sure when you ask for a box, there's no more than half a plate of food. Tell the server, "I'm sorry, I guess my eyes were bigger than my stomach. But it's so good I'd love to finish it later when I'm not this full!"

I always liked honest customers, I'd let them get away with that. But I hated people asking for a to go box when I just got them a brand new platter of fried chicken. I wasn't meant to fuel your lunch box for the next 3 days! Now if it were just a few leftovers on the plate and it looked like they had been trying to finish, then yeah, I'd let that slide.

Unless the restaurant is called "All You Can Eat - To Go!",
where huge garbage bags for carry-out are provided,
I wouldn't try it.

You could consider the $25 dollar price tag of the buffet meal (even if you can't eat twenty-five dollars' worth of food) to be a gift to your dad.

P.S. Eat a small amount of the dinner items and save room for dessert.

Eat your fill, tip well, and get the hell out. Taking food away from a buffet is tasteless and against the rules.

You could eat as much as you can then ask you waiter for one of those little Styrofoam plates to take the rest home with you.Just make sure you fill your plate up before you ask for one.

You pay for one sitting so if you take any out to eat later or give away that is theft.

Don't eat there. Tell them you want yours to go and they will give you a container. Then just take home the container. You can't eat there AND take out, it would be stealing.

if your a girl you could sneak it in your purse or bag . and if you are a guy you can sneak it in your coat pocket. but make sure your dad does'nt notice that you snook some food from the restarant. also make sur the food is'nt to messy to sneak it some where.

it's called stealing, and if you get caught and they file charges, you can go to jail AND get a criminal record. if you're that cheap, why don't you just give HIM a gift certificate for the restaurant. does daddy know what a selfish person you've turned into?????
