In my opinion, yes - pertially. I feel that parents have a natural "duty" to raise their kids to know right from worng and instill basic human respect and values in their children. Noone else should be responsibile for raising children other that the parents. Even if it came down to parenting classes or family counseling, I feel that parents should be "punished" in some way for the actions of their children.

What do you label a juvenile action, and why would one have to be a parent to perform any such action?
I think you ought to get your English straight before posting such a question. You probably mean if parents should be held accountable for acts committed by their offspring, and if this is what you really meant, then my answer is a definite YES. Please also be informed that this concept is already enshrined in the Statute Books of most Western countries and probably in other parts of the world as well, although I have no direct knowledge of it.

This question depends very much on the situation.
Yes a lot of the time, I'd even go so far as to take out the juvenile terminology.
Children are open books, and we need to be extremely careful what we write in them.
But then again, you just can't keep 'em chained down till you die.
And it's virtually impossible to give them any freedom without risk.
So basically I don't know, perhaps we should have more controlled experiments?

Yes. Legally, parents are responsible for their children to the age of 18, unless the child is emancipated. Therefore, they should know what their children are up to until that age. Period.

And the children should be held accountable. No matter the age. We have become a society of blame -- "it wasn't my fault". It was the medication, my parents, my friends, society, peer pressure, etc. Bull. In order to have responsible adults, we must raise responsible children. They must know that their actions have consequences, and if they are responsible for the action, they must face the consequence. And parents must know enough about their children to know when there is a possible problem. It's their job as parents.

it depends on the age and the action the
realistic ability the parent would have had to intervene etc..
sometimes it is the law especially with injury and propriety damage.
in general, would make things better if both parents were held more accountable...on substance abuse other harm in the home and parenting failures.

To a point, yes but it depends on the actions. If it's a 3 yr old that scratches your car with a hot wheel, or a teenager that breaks into your car, see the difference?

yes

both should be punished really,

parents have been far to leniant on raising there child, however many cant help it, if they were to even raise there hand to their child, someone would call the police and claim abuse. But if you let the kid do whatever they want or let the TV educate the kid, then theres noone to blaim but the parents.
