Helmet makers don't have an industry standard fit. A helmet from HJC may not fit the same as the same size Shoei.

My husband has a Shoei skidlid. It`s an XL to fit over his big bonce 61-62cms, and he bought it off ebay. He has a Yamaha XJR1200.

You should always test the individual potty you`re considering to buy for fitment. If you`re buying a touring top comfyness and quietness is mandatory. If you`re trackminded you should try to get as wide vision as possible and a bit higher int he neck for good point of vision management. A tighter fit is in order, too. Low end models seem to differ in fitment compared to top models even in the same potty maker. Test it, do not order by mail.

I've always found Shoei's slightly smaller than the rest. I nearly ripped my ears off when I tried one on recently that apparently was the same size as my previous one. WRONG!! (i'm a bird and got a little head, dunno if that made any difference?)
