funny you say that because i as watching myth busters on tv and they did something similar to the cone idea but it obviously worked or they wouldn't have shown it but the higher they got the more the object on their head deteriorated

You'd hit the water at around 110mph, which is pretty fast to hit something head first. But if the cone was long enough, and also waterproof so that the part under the water contained air for buoyancy, it would slow you down gradually enough to be survivable; you could realistically only handle about 4g in that situation so the cone would have to be around 90m long (the braking distance of a car doing half the speed) and would have to be kept perfectly vertical and aligned with your centre of gravity.
So in principle yes it's possible, but there are certain practical factors to consider with a hat that big (!)

If you jumped out of an aeroplane you would impact the surface of the water with the same effect as impacting on concrete. The silly hat would not save you from becoming a great big splat.
Arguably if the hat was a cone say 50 feet tall then it may actually have an effect, but your neck would not support the giant hat to begin with.

Not likely. Even if you had the perfect fairing you still have to push that water sideways in a split second, so you're going to take a pretty good hit. In fact, that cone will make it more likely you'll die since it will let you fall through the air a lot faster.

You'd probably break your neck or be killed by the impact anyway. Hitting water at high speed is as lethal as landing on concrete. The cone on your head would not help, in fact if could be a hindrance.

You would die. Hitting water from a great height is like hitting concrete. Try jumping of a foot high platform, head first, on to concrete with a crash helmet on. No, second thoughts don't do that.

Well 50 - 50 Chance the point could break the helmate and go flying into your head, When the water hits the helmate it could split your head letting you drown!

no, the water would still feel like cement when you hit the surface. Your neck would break and you would crumble like a ton of bricks.
