As Northern Ireland is part of the U.K. why do we never hear of any Muslim Women going theer with a full Veil over their face???.
Maybe the people of N.I. would tar and feather them like in the past when religion up-most if a Catholic girl went with a Protestant man that's what would happen.
Also if the Muslims keep blowing-up people of the U.K would the U.D.A ECT,ECT react like they did with the I.R.A.?????

There was a local TV programme on UTV on Friday night at 11:00pm debating muslims wearing veils in NI. So it is an issue. Funny thing was alot of female muslims wearing veils in the audience were white N. Irish women.
In South Belfast there have been alot of racist attacks and intimidation mainly by the Protestant community.
On Tuesday night in either BBC or UTV Steven Nolan is doing a show exploring racism towards Eastern Europeans and maybe other ethnicities.
With regard to your question re: tit fot tat violence towards muslims I dont know. It is a scary thought because as you know loyalist violence here was completely mindless and indescriminate. IRA violence was equally wrong but they had a clear ideology and attempted to concentrate on so called "legitimate" targets.

There aren't many minorities or Muslims in NI and that's how most of the locals like it. There isn't even a mosque in NI as the local council in the area where it was being proposed said it would be - wait for it - a magnet for terrorism! Ballymena's local museum also refused the gift of some Islamic art.
I think covering one's face *is* creating a barrier and nothing more than a symbol of women's lowly place in Islam, but think they could be better treated in Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland may be IN the United Kingdom, but it is certainly no reflection of mainstream Britain.

In case you hadn't noticed, people from N. Ireland are willing to throw rocks at kids on their way to an infant school if it means walking through the wrong area. I remember it well and it exposed Northern Ireland for what it really is.

Muslims aren't blowing up people in Northern Ireland and I doubt if there are many Muslims living there either. If Muslims did start living there and causing mayhem then perhaps the UDA, UFF, and the IRA would join forces to combat that kind of terrorism...
