ok, i know this question is asked all the time, but i could really use some help. i am three days late for my second period, my periods use to be extremly irregular, but began to regulate about five months ago. i am constantly tired, am constipated, have gas, and, (according to my husband) am irritable. i have also developed heartburn which i have never had before. (plus i pee once about every 1 1/2 to 3 hours) i have taken about four home tests over the past two months, ( 2 first response, 1 equate, and 1 ept) and all have been negative. i know i need to go to the doctor, but should i ask for just a pregnancy test or a blood test as well? and should i even bother going since the home tests came back negative?

A lot of times other factors are the reason our period's could be late. For one it could be due to stress. So i wouldn't be to worried about one missed period. And i would have to say as far as every other symptom goes alot of it could just be in your head. (not meaning that negatively) I am just saying that if your paying so much attention to your body and what it doing then normal then you are going to put more stock into the gas or constipation then normal. (and the peeing thing really doesn't start until about 2-3 months pregnant) The only reason i don't think your pregnant is because of the EPT test. (most clinic and other small doctors offices give the EPT test before doing any other test.) I'm not saying it cant be wrong, we all know they can be but it just doesn't seem likely. Look it takes all of about 2 mins to make a doctors apt. Go to the doctor, and he (or she) will decide what kind of test you need.

Home pregnancy tests can be wrong. I doubt 4 tests are wrong though. You say you are 3 days late for a SECOND month? I would not approach your doctor's appt as a "pregnancy" test, you could have other things going on.

I would seek medical advise immediately. I don't mean to scare you but my thought was a possible pregnancy in a tube...in the long run...you could be so stressed out over it all...it could just be that stress! The mind is a mighty thing! It could be you are just being irregular again too...keep optimistic and see a doctor ASAP....

As a mother of two healthy beautiful girls, I can tell you that asking for advice on this topic is worthless. Do youself the favor and go to your doctor or the nearest clinic (depends on your financial situation) and get an exam. Pregnancy tests are normally correct however, if YOU have a hormone condition (that could be why your periods are off) the levels of protein (the hormone that sets the positive off in the pregnancy test) could be off. Tell your doctor what is going on, he will then decide what tests you need and what would benefit you. If you aren't pregnant, then at least you know and can get on the right track to become or if this isn't "the best time" then accept the many ways of birth control so that you don't have to make yourself sick over worrying the next time. :)

Actually, some woman who take pregnancy tests and have a result of negative each time really are pregnant. The way they find out is by going to their doctor and having a blood test taken. A couple of your symptoms are pregnancy related such as frequent urination and missing a period. To be more than positive go to your doctor, maybe something else may be wrong.

I would just ask for a preg test because most of the time at the doctors office they give you blood tests. Home preg test can come back negative a lot when it could be positive. Technically you should see your doctor before you try to have a baby.. I would go to the doctors though and get a test. Even if you aren't preg yet they could always give you advise to help you get preg...

I called Plan Parenthood and told them I thought I was pregnant I wanted to take a test. To me sounds like you might be pregnant. Have you taken the test first thing in the morning? You could ask for a blood test but Dr might have you do a pee test first any way. Best to check with a Dr because if you are not pregnant you need to find out why your period is not coming. If you are pregnant you wouldn't want to take birth control and harm the baby. Good luck.

If you suppose that elevating a little one as a unmarried mom might be nice then that's all that issues. No topic what you do, different persons can have an opinion. They might not be dwelling together with your resolution both manner, handiest you and the youngster shall be.Do what's nice for you and the youngster. That is hard to say, because it all depends on if you are stressed over something that can delay your period. But also if you used protection, that can be the other reason. I would go to the doctor real soon to talk to them about it You have all the symptoms of being pregnant but it can be anything. But you should have them run as many tests on you as possible because it can be anything. Good luck on everything.

You may just be paranoid and are noticing things about yourself that are normal but you are paying so much attention to them that they seem like pregnancy symptoms. The at-home pregnancy tests are usually pretty accurate. But just to be safe I would go to the doctor just to make sure and maybe check out why your period is being irregular.

Home pregnancy tests can give false negatives, I would go to the doctor and they will recommend which tests to have.
