There is actually a special field fix kit available for this vehicle's 3.0L engine. It is available from either Goodyear or Gates. The Goodyear part number is 49204K and the Gates part number is 38342K. If you purchase this kit you will receive detailed instructions on how to install not only the serpentine belt but also the belt tensioner. These vehicles are known for the serpentine belt falling off, and this special kit fixes that problem once and for all. The kit includes a special (ribs on both sides) belt that locks into place and therefore cannot fall off. It is really slick. The kit only cost about $100 and takes about 1hr to install.

pretty easy, first draw a picture of the belt and label all accessories so you remember how to put it back on if you get stuck, then you either need a 3/8 ratchet or belt tool with 3/8 adapter, then you stick that in the hole on the idler pulley and pull it until you see the belt loosen and then you know you turned right way usally to the left, then remove belt and reinstall, start and turn off right away then check to see if belt is fully seated on pulleys and your good to go

I know that people don't like links, etc., but if you go to: autozone.com/servlet/uibroker you can get a diagram and print it. I just replaced one in a car yesterday and I didn't have a diagram so I went to this address.
