A tsunami forms when a strong low pressure system over an ocean, causing it to collect water from the sea, and therefore increase in strength.

Well, Communists would have you believe Capitalism causes all problems, especially Tsunamis and Tidal Waves. But as many others have answered and will continue to answer - even though the answer is present - Earth Quakes - or a large explosion - or series of large explosions, at the oceans floor. Hopefully North Korea doesn't start to think like I do. They now have the means to create a series of large explosions under water. Oh look at that - a Capitalist blaming Tsunamis on Communists - can't blame karma - after all what goes around, comes around, doesn't it.

Off shore earthquakes, landslides, meteor impacts, and volcanic eruptions all have the potential to create tsunamis, anything that rapidly displaces a lot of water. So let's hope Oprah doesn't jump in the ocean anytime soon!
