This is a fake quarter. Whoever did the trick to you, did it well. You need a fake quarter which you ca buy online.

A Coin Trick
This is an easy simple to learn and implement trick...with little practice you can master it with ease.
Materials Needed:
1 Quarter (25cent coin) that is filed down to look like a bite has been taken out of it. You can also buy these at magic shops.
The Trick:
You should already have the special cut quarter hidden between your thumb and forefinger on your right hand when you ask someone to let you borrow a quarter.
Take the quarter from them and quietly move your finger and thumb and switch the coins.
Their coin is now slid to the back of your finger.
Pretend to be biting and tearing off a peice of what is now your special coin and eventually tear it from your mouth to show the audience.
Notes: Practice this trick before performing. It's easy to get confused on how a coin trick works just from reading about it.

File your teeth to a point so you can bite a chunk out of the quarter, and then use some quick drying superglue.
