Almost every Indian I've met has the last name Patel. And most of them have first names that are so hard to pronounce that they say: "Just call me Patel." I worked at a company where there were 32 Indians, 30 of whom were Patels. Why are there so many Patels?

In Gujarat State of India, one community is called patel. They are more aggresive to move anywhere to do business or for education, so many patels are well educated or succesful business people. So patels are everywhere and they mix with every type of people. They are friendly and loving people.

I know its not Gujrati, well because I'm gujrati. But rathod is more of a name from the Hyderabad area. Punjabi, maybe, but I doubt it.
