Keep asking that question until you are satisfied with the answer. The question is very simple yet so very profound. There are no easy answers as long as antaganisim, intollerance, mistrust and fear remain obstacles in the relationship.
The easy answer is to start with yourself. Seek out the best and brightest black and white people and ask their opionion (ask some asian people too) You will find you have to explore both the meaning of the word trust and the history of the country and familliarize yourself with black culture that many blacks do not understand. Once you get over the mis trust and are accepted - you will find a warmth and depth of feeling that white culture cannot compete with. It would be worth it for you to try. To learn about them you have to enter their world - sit at their table, eat their food and hear them talk and offer no judgement or opinion.
Good luck.

The door swings both ways! A survey has indicated that there is more racism, hatred towards Whites then there is Whites hating other races these days. Stop blaming and start taking responsibility for self and and I'm sure much of the problems blamed on Whites would disappear. After all Whites are at this point pretty much the minority in America for the most part. My question to you is what can all races do to stop racism in America? That is the real question! I would venture to say stop blaming and pointing fingers. We have a nice mix of races here in America. This blaming Whites for everything is getting old!

If you start to tell people that white and black people are the same and black people do not do as much bad things as white people do. So time it's more white people how break the law not the black people most of the time . And the have the same lives as us and the only different is that we are white skin and the only have brown skin . And you could tell people what about if some one called you that and start to kick you for noting you did wrong how would the feel .

Its not all about white people being racist.Every race is racist. Us black people are more racist then white people at times. We blame everything on white people. We say we are too lazy to work cause the white people should be paying us to sit on our asses cause they owe us for using our people as slaves. If a white person gets the last breakfast at 10"30 at mcdonalds its because he is white, not because he got there before you,but cause hes white. White people too are racist, but there are nice white people.I have white neighbors and when my family visits they might pass by or stop over and i gotta hear why you talkin to those crackers? Like i should not be nice to them or something. Its just ridiculous. White people are still racist in some places, depending on how they are brought up.I live in a gated community which has about 4 black families and the rest are white, hispanic chinese. We all get along all of our children play,we have cook outs. I do not believe they are racist towards my family but my mom thinks they are.Racism will never die.People have this huge part of them just can't take anything different. We are racist to our own race,if you are fat we don't like you cause your nasty and lazy,or your not pretty enough. It will never end.My suggestion is to respect everyone regardless of race or anything else.At the end of the day you go home to your family, not these people. You can choose your own social circle, you do not have to have black friends or gay friends, but you also do not have to mistreat them in any way at any time. That goes for all people. White people can help ,but we play a part in that as well. You can't just say white people, there are great white people, there are great people in every race.

white people as one cant do nething to stop racism and there lies the miss conception.(that just white people are racist). black are just as racist as white people. but not all white or black are racist. racism will never go away doesnt matter how much we try it will always be there. some of my best friends are black and let me tell you. what white poeple need to stop doing is stereotyping as much and thinking they are better. now everyone aint made equal, thats crap but everyone deserves equal respect. and blck people can help themselves by changing there stereotype of drug dealing street talking etc but they dont for the majority. and the reason they dont is because they use slavery and that white people owe them and they dont get to have the same education and that there a product of racism as a scape goat both races have to change to make a change and accept responsbility

This is my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. I honestly believe that if all black people, all Jews, everyone who speaks with a foreign accent, bears an unpopular complexion, or whose facial features are somehow suspect, disappeared tomorrow, withing three weeks the very groups who cite all of the above with being the cause of all ills would find another minority to hate and ridicule and accuse of plotting the downfall of the country. That might well be members of the Lion's Club, but it doesn't matter. There are those who simply have to have somebody or something to hate.

I think the most important thing is to start representing people of the minorities as successful in the media. Rather than saying 'staying in the ghetto is good' make the message of 'you can get out of the ghetto if you really want to'... it's not cool to be lower class. Unfortunately, in the united states, people of races other than caucasian are usually represented as poor drug runners, this gives caucasians apprehension about spending time with other races. It's stupid to make low-class cool, one should always aspire for at least middle-class..

What kind of question is that?
Do you think racism is limited to white people alone?
A lot of black people have a racist attitude towards white people and especially towards Mexicans.
It's not what white people can do it's what can we all do, as Americans, black, white, red, yellow, brown, whatever color that bleeds red, white, and blue.
Close mindedness like yours that limits the idea needs to be fixed as well.

Everybody in general can stop stereotyping, and believing that they are better than one person or another because of where they live or the color of their skin. White people can stop feeling a sense of entitlement because they are white.
