Sims 2 Pets add on- anyone know how to put collars on pets?

Question

Got the new Sims 2 Pets yesterday and can't seem to work out how to put collars on pets. I buy them in the pet shop and the money is taken for them but they don't appear in my sims inventory and unlike the original sims pets add on there isn't an option if you click on the pet itself. Without a collar the pets wander off and get lost.
Am I missing something or is there a glitch on the program?

Try the link at the bottom, they generally have walkthroughs, hints & cheats on their site ... & I believe that there is also a forum ... hope that helps.

Oh - I think that the answer is actually on the site (see the second link for the credit for the answer):

Step 1. Obtain mirror
Step 2. Select a sim
Step 3. Click said mirror with sim and change appearance of desired pet
Step 4. Seek collar option and change it on them.

I bought the game recently too and the only way I have managed to put a collar on my dog so far is when I made him along with his owner from "Create a sim" option...

On the original sims you had to click on the wardrobe and it would ask if you wanted to change clothes, so maybe there is something you need to click on for the pets so they can wear the collar.

I would have thought if you go onto the web site www.sims2pets.com which is brand new site for fans you might get an answer. Good Luck
