Generally, better or worse are relative terms and the judgment of whether something is better changes with the individual, place, and time. For instance, when younger, it was better for me to hold a lower-paying, part-time job that did not require much thought while I was going to school; now that I am older, my needs have changed and it is better to have a job that provides me the opportunity to live a quality life and save for retirement, and one that continues to challenge me intellectually.

I do think there are some absolutes when it comes to better or worse, though: it's better when people have enough to eat than when they don't; it's better for all when the environment is treasured rather than when it's trashed; it's better to spread good will rather than attempting to project your hurt onto others thus spreading negativity and/or violence.

It is the minds of human beings that define things in terms of better and worse, according to what is closer or futher away from what any of us wants. It is human desire that creates the ideas of better and worse. In my own mind, what is more helpful to my life is better and what hinders my life is worse.
Ideas are mental- not physical- objects.

Better or worse are opinions people have. For instance, if I get a job promotion, it can be "better" than my old job. But for an enemy of mine, it can be "worse" because I make more money than them now.
In other words, all things are different, but it's our opinion whether it's better or worse.

better or worse, relative to whom, to what ???,it's like you're looking at the same thing from different corners, directions ...perspectives ..so what might be better to me might be worse to you ...we perceive the relative truth of the absolute ...so when someone says to you :your presence made a difference,it's relativity and the changing element is you ...they might harber both sides of the meaning ,yet the same meaning :) .

If there is no better or worse, then why not choose my answer for 10 points? It's just as good as any of the others!

I hope that answers your question, grasshopper. Think about it. :-)
