Okay, I have a pretty serious problem and my girlfriend threatened to leave me if I do not fix it. :-) j/k

Anyways, I have a Kohler shower. I have one dial that controls water flow(pressure) and another dial that controls water temp. The link to what I have behind the walls is http://www.us.kohler.com/onlinecatalog/detail.jsp?item=274302

When I turn the temp up to it's hottest temp, the water only gets warm at best. I can tolerate it but it is not ideal. I have checked the hot water heater and it is fine. I have checked other showers and sinks and they provide adequate hot water. I have also removed the trim that controls temp and tried adjusting the mixing valve stemp with no luck. I suppose this is my final effort before I call someone out to fix it. Hope some can help me out with this annoying problem.

Thanks in advance.

Take the mixer valve apart replace the inner parts. To replace the whole valve would mean tearing the wall apart. You may even be able to buy a kit. See your Home depot or Lowe's guy for
help. (Or go to a specialty plumbing store. One that sells plumbing stuff only. Prices are higher, but help is more specific.)

ok there may alsobe somethingblocking the entire flow of water INTO that valve! on the hotside....only way to find out is to pull it all apart and turn on the hot only and shut the cold off at the nearest valve

The water balancing valve is bad, remove and replace be sure and shut the water off feeding the fixture before hand, tell you girl sometimes a cold shower is refreshing!

kohler has some models that have a plastic ring that goes over the brass valve (under the handle).
all you have to do is reposition this piece
