I've resigned myself to the fact that he will do it, and it's just a part of who he is. He doesn't spend money on big ticket items without telling me, so that makes the frivolous ones even less important in the long run.

What seems frivolous to one may be very important to another. There may be more serious stuff to focus on.
The majority of stuff that a woman says she needs, messages, hairstyles, makeup, purses, shoes etc etc seem frivolous to me. BUT, at the same time I know that those items are important to her and make her happy. So it is money well spent to keep a little harmony.

It bugs me...it seems neverending. It doesn't seem to matter how often I tell him that we need to save our money to get the bills paid he always comes home with receipts for coffee or breakfast, stuff he could have gotten at home but was to lazy to!

It irks me. There are so many things we've talked about getting for our home, if fact I would actually like to move up to a better neighborhood and nicer house. So in answer to that he went out yesterday and bought a $6000 motorcycle. :(
(Can we say MIDLIFE CRISIS?)

I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that it's gonna happen, no matter how I feel about it.

if it's affordable-no problem; women spend also, as long as it doesn't take away from paying debt and necessities , it's fine
